Rowan came to Oxford to study Writing for Performance at Ruskin College and graduated in 2015. She regularly performed at Ruskin Theatre Platforms with John Retallack.

 

She has taught playwriting and other writing workshops to a wide variety of people, including those that are homeless and those studying business at Oxford University.

 

Her play Sawdust was written with people that are homeless and is the subject of a documentary Life is a Circus which is to be screened on BBC4 later this year.

 

She is also the editor of a book of poetry, Words as Weapons (Hurst St Press 2018).
