Tristan Jackson-Pate trained as an actor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He now makes theatre that’s hopeful and curious about the world, rooted in the belief that stories can change the way we see it.

From 2015 to 2026, Tristan was Artistic Director of the award-winning People’s Theatre Collective, creating professional theatre with and for young people. His work spans new writing, family theatre and co-created productions. He is an Associate Artist with Royal & Derngate and Human Story Theatre and his work has been seen on over 100 stages across the UK.

Tristan has written and directed five family theatre productions for PTC (Robin Hood, Cinderella, Treasure Island, Myth and Myth II: Heroes and Halfwits), Story Seekers for Oxford Playhouse and Song of the Summer, a gig theatre co-production with Royal & Derngate. Other writing includes Sam & Zoe Vs Evermore, a game theatre comedy inspired by Dungeons & Dragons and Do You Accept? a film exploring the internet and social media, screened to thousands of young people in UK schools alongside interactive drama workshops.
